Matt is a multiple Pixel Award Winner, designer, developer & web standards advocate. Matt's projects focus on everything from his fascination with cutting-edge technology to both modern and retro design styles. Matt's work emphasizes on minimal interactive design with simple usability and adhere to current accessibility and web standards. Matt founded 913studios and holds the position of Creative Director, which means he oversees the design and direction for creative projects.

Matt's Skills & Background

Matt is currently pursing a degree in Interactive Media at Johnson County Community College, with an emphasis in marketing and web design. He has a college certificate in Business Planning and received a Web Design Endorsement upon graduation from the specialized eCommunications program offered at his high school, Olathe Northwest. Matt is the proud recipient of two 1st place Pixel Awards in Web Design and the Best of Show award in Web Design from the reginal eMagine Design Festival in 2009 and 2010. Matt has also had the pleasure of working with a wide-variety of clients ranging from small startups to large companies over the course of his professional and freelance career. Over the years, Matt has developed a wide range of skills to facilitate his work. He has focused on applying usability and accessibility standards for solving complicated web content issues, while still trying to create thoughtful and relevant designs. His expertise lies with standards-compliant XHTML & CSS, as well as a solid working knowledge of designing and developing in the Wordpress content management system. His design process is heavily inspired by the use of clean typography and functional grid-based layouts.
